Mapping Data Sources

An inventory is the first step towards a data-driven content pipeline.

A central part of Discovery is identifying and mapping all relevant data sources.

These can include:

  • PDFs and static documents
  • Research databases
  • Articles and newsletters
  • Event and program archives
  • Images, videos, and recorded sessions
  • Internal notes and manuals

Each source is evaluated for relevance, quality, structure, and access constraints (such as GDPR or internal privacy policies). Mapping also notes relationships between sources --- for example, an article referencing a video, or an event tied to specific research.

Organizing the inventory of data is the firs step toward active, intelligent communication. Let's start with an example.

1 · Source

We generate a constant flow of structured and creative data; only part of it can go straight to the public.

2 · Transform

Once sources are identified, the transformation step prepares raw material for public use. Each data asset is mapped to a channel and assigned a transformation path: fully automated (e.g., scripts generating video clips from audio) or editorial (e.g., crafting captions, selecting visual frames). The goal is to minimize friction between raw material and audience-ready output. Transformed assets are versioned and deposited in a shared "Platform-Ready" folder, ready for scheduling or further adjustment.

  1. Map source to channel (e.g. audio hook → IG Reel).
  2. Pick path
    • Automated – scripts, templates, batch exports.
    • Editorial – copywriting, localisation, approvals.
  3. Package – deposit finished asset in “Platform-Ready” folder (versioned).

3 · Broadcast and Loop

With platform-ready assets in hand, the broadcast phase triggers publication across social and owned channels. Each asset is scheduled, tracked with UTMs, and monitored for early signals like saves, clicks, streams, or user-generated content. Successful assets feed data back into the system: top-performing content is boosted, underperformers are adjusted or retired. Broadcasting isn't a one-time event; it's a live loop where content performance sharpens the next wave of transformations.

  • Broadcast – schedule, publish, attach UTMs, trigger presave.
  • Collect signals – CTR, saves, stream spikes, fresh UGC.
  • Iterate – feed metrics back to Transform, boost winners, retire duds.
